Angry Inflamation!!!!!!!!

alright you guys

or should i say ladies! since we're mostly ladies

i've been taking 3-4 pills of naproxen @ a time. i'm thinking i should just go to doc and ask for anti-inflamatory meds that are stronger and i won't have to take as many of them? is that how that works?

theres no such thing as anti inflams that don't mess with your stomach, correct? i have flector patches that are nice but they are too effing expensive. thanks everyone.

When I was re injured the 5th time in 4 yrs ( work comp kept sending me back to same job- but the first time I stupidly requested to go back - more $$ there) oops back to my point...

One Dr suggested trying Celebrex - maybe he was thinking arthritis.. but it didn't do a thing for me.

I tried Aleve also but it did nothing for me either.

IB (Advil/Motrin/generic) was my OTC of choice, when trying to continue on at work I was taking over the recommended amounts, I didn't stop to add up the totals at the time, but when I did it was not good.

There is a theory on the more natural based health websites, that taking OTC long term actually retard the healing process.

I don't recall which ones I read that one but when I saw it I cross checked to verify on other natural health sites, and it was there also.

Seeing that information made me stop the continued use of the OTC, plus it had messed up my tummy/gut a bit to where i have some mild IBS. Mostly only shows up if i get stressed out or eat triggering foods.
I was also off work by that time and was getting some good PT so less need for those OTC.

Something to consider...

Hope you dont Mind a GUY chiming in
Where is the inflamation you are talking about? I get alot in the neck area.
I too tried celebrex, and it was usless. Advil works some, but I have recently been experimenting with wrap around ice packs with velcro straps....they have been working quite well, along with muscle relaxors...of course thats only from a mans point of view.
Cheers,
Jay

hahahah, my face is tight hi
so myofascial pain syndrome would that cause inflammation?

i hesitate to use the word trigger points bc if i do have them i have about 500 all around my rib area. particularly the sides and back under my shoulders. my ribs always feel warm and they're twisted:

both l and r ribs-- too high up
right side -- not as high, twisted forward, so the rib/shoulder joint area feels stuck and pinched in front. also my more winged shoulder, coincidence..i think not!
left side--spasm side, rib is back but comes out at my ear

my pt was feeling around my ribs in the back area and they HURT theyre very painful to the touch and when i strengthen or stretch all of these areas get warm again. its very frustrating.

ice does help i just hate doing it :/

My theory is a simple one...just like me.
Once everything in the upper body, neck area up gets ****** off, it causes the inflamation. Plain and simple. Unless you can calm it down..it remains a constant cycle.

yeah actually i think i AM inflamed bc my ribs snap/crack? not sure which ALL THE TIME. when i go to bed @ nite they creep up to my ears then i stand and they snap

also i cant even do shoulder shrugs bc they snap and it just irritates the joint.

"joints" might actually help. Ok...seriously...celebrex did crap for me. It just wasnt strong enough. I found a muscle relaxor (valium) did a better job of relxaing the muscles, thus bringing down the inflamation. And again, back to our ice on the neck/head area when it is bad.
There are "no" good ideas or options, its about choosing the ones that you feel most comfortable with to make life more managable.
When everything is inflamed and feels swollen, it is an awful feeling. Hope you can find some relief.
