There are success stories. I consider myself one of those. I am approaching 6 years post-op from a 1st rib resection. It was the result of an MVA but I was predisposed to the problem with an abnormal 1st rib. The attrophed had and forearm muscles recovered and my post-surgery EMG/NCV show evidence of nerve regrowth. I think they called it polyphasia. I periodically check out the forums because I have spine problems and vascular TOS on the opposite side due to a cervical rib but I'm avoiding surgery until the symptoms get severe enough.

I'm nonsurgical. For most of the past 10 years I've been "dealing with it." But honestly, with all the help and hope in the world, it just gets worse. I wasn't on these boards for a while, but I'm baaaaaack! Because I can't STAND IT anymore! And I need some sanity from the people who TOTALLY GET IT.
