I am no expert, but from experience using a heating pad around the neck seems to help me. Ice does not releive any of that type of swelling for me. Others may say differently, but that has been my expericence.

My neck likes heat better than cold.

How did you overstretch? exercises or a fall/accident?

tilting my head to the left and back, to stretch.

basically scared to turn my head to the left now, i think it would pinch a little and then swell.

another condition i have is TMJ. i hope this didnt aggravate it.
