Perhaps you're referring to Dr Lum at Johns Hopkins. Here's a thread.

I expect there might be others at JH that also trained w/ Dr. Freischlag.

Checking out Dr. Lum on the Johns Hopkins site, I watched the video where he talks about TOS and treatment. I'm hoping it's bad editing on the part of the video team, but when he starts talking about the surgery, he says that patients GO HOME IN 3-4 HOURS AFTER SURGERY!!! Is this for real? I was starting to feel like he might be a possibility until I heard him say that!

Default Dr. Ying-Wei Lum

Huh? Unless he's talking about the simpler "surgery" of pec minor tenonomy (sp?), I agree with you - this makes no sense at all!

But I have to say, in the video I watched on the JH website of Dr. Lum, he stated that the TOS patient would typically be released 24 hours post-surgery for a first rib resection/partial scalenectomy, which is pretty standard.

Now I am Confucious !!

Did you and I watch different videos of Dr. Lum?

Alison
