Default Positional Cervical Cord Syndrome for FibrO/TOS

Hi, have any members consulted with Dr Holman or tried investigating this?
Neck in extension has spinal cord compression. Particularly valid for those of us with whiplash injuries OR neck bulges or neck pain.

www.PositionalCordCompression.com
C7-C8 pain patterns match many TOS type symptoms.

Note C7 level C8 and below nerve issues will affect muscles and can cause TOS as a side effect too!

So its all related.

Hmm, I wonder if some of the long time ago members had that...there were a few that had those symptoms...

[Fatigue is common as is alterations in autonomic function, such as temperature dysregulation, excessive sweating, palpitations, tachycardia, hypertension, gastric hyperacidity, irritable bowel syndrome, bladder dysfunction, restless legs syndrome and bruxism (grinding teeth).]

If folks who have had whiplash injury (or even otherwise) find it painful to extend their necks (eg when moving their head back in car seats, looking up at something above their heads), then chances are they have an extension based issue. And it could very well be this.

I do have pain when my head is in forward head posture. Most people with forward head posture have their necks stuck in extension. Seems plausible to me that its the C6-C7 nerve roots irritated and which cause a domino effect as other muscles switch off and full blown TOS appears.

I actually contacted Dr. Holman (view my past posts in regard to information I received). I had viewed some of his lectures I found online and felt that his theory made a lot of sense as to what I was experiencing.
I was able to have the flexion & extension MRI at my local hospital per his protocol......long story short, it did show some compression at flexion but I really did not get even a "bit" of concern from the neurosurgeon recommended by my PCP.
I have had ongoing issues since I had surgery for TOS with complications that required 2 further surgeries........I am seeing a Rheumatologist who is very good about listening to my concerns and has been probably more up to thinking outside the box than most docs..all I can say is you need to be your own advocate & research as much as you can on sites that are medically valid.

Thank you! My issue is exactly that most Neuros dont believe in disc bulges not touching the cord, causing pain.
And getting a neck surgery on a whim seems scary (to say the least).
Did you try his PT program for neck issues?

I may have been vague in my post to yours.....I have had issues "after" my surgery for TOS that prompted me to investigate Dr. Holman's website......only went to neurosurgeon because my PCP did not feel comfortable interpreting ( he ordered my MRI) & felt that the neurosurgeon would assess if it was a problem that would need to be addressed..one of his comments to me was, can't get a new spine??Yea that was a bit rude..believe me I did not want to go through any more surgery......3 was enough for me !! Just would have appreciated a more caring concern.
I did not get Dr. Holman's pt dvd....my rheumatologist did have me go through some pt though and have had myofascial release and massage that has helped....think though it's just something I have to live with.

Chloe, thanks for your feedback. I mailed Dr Holman and he has sent some info across on the PT, should be getting it in a fortnights time. Will review and let you all know. BTW, i started doing some neck exercises and they seem to be helping. An unstable neck seems to be at the core of my problems.
