i posted this on fb but figure id paste here maybe itll help someone
*i am both hypo and hypermobile # i'm going to scrawl pt notes here as an online log, maybe itll be helpful to someone shoulder strengthening on back, arms raised and extended in front reach forward then move back = snapping scapula on left side aka inflamation cannot do simple scalenes, head tilt stretch. pec minor pain on rt side neck spasms left side pt calls me hypersensitive so i transfer to get rid of trigger pts new pt doent mention trigger points, has me lay on side to strengthen rotator cuff. w/o weights, hand very shaky. says burning sensation is from the muscles, i disagree everyone else has commented that my neck is TOO TIGHT but new pt says that he's jealous of how loose it is, okay. maybe he means the bones or w/o trigger pts. confusing. last Saturday things that have really hurt me/done nothing class iv DEEP laser therapy, aka bs us massage done med/lightly (cranked up to the max has helped) lifting weights resistance bands nerve glides (i used to do these effectively but now my nerves are so mad i cant even try) stretching (has helped and hurt, but nerves are so mad cant even try anymore) last Saturday · pt is busting out the RESISTANCE BANDS luckily im using the lightest one possible and i am not moving my shoulder, holding arm at rt angle and stepping in and out from door attached to band huge knots on right side are aggravated so i am worried still. also i believe the weird fat armpit feelings i am experiencing on rt side are vascular. also the horrible stabbing pains ive experienced are not in my pec minor but my serratus anterior which apparently i shouldve gotten tested by an emg, my guess |

Have you checked your library for Sharon Butler's book?
It has RSI in the title but if you search by her name it should be easier to find. Her website does have a lot of info too but you have to explore all the area/links to find the good stuff. www.selfcare4rsi.com To me it sounds like they are doing pretty much the "standard" cookie cutter Program of therapy , just doesn't seem like it is working out for you. To me, if nerves are messed up , you shouldn't do bands or weights yet

i am sitting here in my office and trying to find a new pt
i agree i feel "inflamed"? my entire back chest is warm and strange feeling. thanks for your input. |

Do you think I should try to find another physical therapist or wait to see a neurologist?

I don't know about the neurologist part , but the PT just does not sound right for you at all.
I would try to find more advanced PTs - ask lots of questions about any extra training , if they customize the care for you and adjust it as needed. do they focus on pain relief modalities first before any more activity on your part?

yeah i think thats what ill do
i just had an episode, its freezing outside and my l arm went dead and i felt like bawling on the bus. i guess standing outside for so long aggravated something my fingers are hot pink. im going to go to the library and look for butler. find ems type place pain relieving first. this pt really ****** me off. he was correcting me about all of this stuff when he doesnt know **** other than rotator cuff strengthening. i gave him 2 visits that splenty |

also i have this sharp sharp trgr pt on my back around the shoulder and i tried to show it to him and he said no thats a rib. TRUST me thats a rib. wtf!!

My chiro does an minor adjustment on my top rib from the back some times.
The other PTs did it as an over the shoulder near neck and downward press. I wonder if it might be a top rib raised up, or tilted? but it usually wouldn't hurt like a triggerpt. my raised top ribs just caused extra neck/collarbone tension/strains. also choking feelings, swallowing problems & limited my arm use - that was during the really bad spasms and after - the ribs got stuck in the raised position after the spams had lifted them up. they didn't go back down until the PTs & then chiro took care of it. top rib gets pulled up into the collarbone and closes everything in between down even more...

the thing is i have a raised rib on my left side (the sx on that side sound more like what you guys describe typically. it feels like tmj almost, my jaw swells on that side)
and my ribcage is actually a little crooked and its the right side around my extra winged atrophied shoulder that gets the knots. its droopy bc the trap there is wasted away...maybe. i think i have scoliosis actually if i ever feel better i'll take a picture of my back i look like i came from a concentration camp now it startled me. |
