I hate to be apest but I'm still learning about all of this. Does anyone else have trouble breathing, chest pains and also loss of appetite? I've been experiencing all this lately. When I start doing things...I have trouble breathing....not sure what's going on now but I don't know how muchmore I can take. I've already lost 5 pounds since I just don't feel like eating. I think the pain is part to blame. I'm just wondering what symptoms everyone else has?

I have an appt with the workman's comp Dr tomorrow which is an Orthopedic surgeon. Not sure what good htat's going to do. I don't think Orthopedics treat thoracic outlet syndrome. I had already went to one when this was first thought to be carpal tunnel but then they sent me to the neurologist. They don't have any neurologist's listed on the workman's comp stuff. I also have an appt with an attorney this week I hope it all goes well. I'd like to hear from all of you who are going through or have been through some tough days. Does it get better and how long before it does. I don't know when I'll be able to go back to work. What a mess!

I only seem to have discomfort breathing when I'm doing strenuous or semi strenuous activity. Like walking for example. I usually end up with a tight almost charlie-horse pain on the right side of my chest. It also happens when I'm making trips from my condo, back and forth to my vehicle.
No problems eating though.
My orthopedic surgeon also referred me to the vascular surgeon who diagnosed me for TOS.

work comp prefers to send you to a doc that won't be able to dx or agree with your doctors dx {if you have a dx yet} - they don't want any injury to be found.

So the best thing is to make a list of all your sx you so don't forget any of them, and be sure to show and tell where all of you pain is, all that you can't do. And tell if you have delayed pain - hrs or days after use.

they may try to trick you into moving or doing something so they can say you can do things-

I forgot to say anything about the breathing problems...
is it like a very tight feel in your chest muscles?
you can't take a full breath?

It could be from muscle spasms but if you can describe it more we might be able to help better.

I agree with Jo.. Tammy, be very careful with the W/C Dr. Don't let him trick you into anything. If you can't do it, don't do it. Also don't be upset with what he may tell you remember he is there to make it look as though you have nothing wrong with you that is what the insurance companies pay these Dr's BIG $$$ for... It is great that you have an appt with an attorney.. I will have my fingers crossed for you.. Please keep us updated..

With the breathing did it come after the injections or before? Allot of times we find it is difficult to take a deep breath because we hurt or we feel we are protecting ourselves from the discomfort we feel on inspiration. Loss of appetite should not be a problem with TOS although some of the medications they put you on for nerve pain can cause a increase in appetite and weight gain .. Been There Done That..
