I am just curious if anybody with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome has ever had this symptom, don't know if it is related or something completely seperate.
I recently have started having just one of my ears suddenly get very red and hot. It will remain that way for 15-30 minutes. It seems to be happening every evening one time and can not seem to find what is triggering it. It is on the same side that my TOS has been acting up on, so wondered if they are related. |

I definitely have the red ear syndrome and it was worse when my TOS was worse. As I have improved so has the red ear. Also the lobe which is the reddest part is just slightly swollen compared to the other side.
Note that I also have TMJD with my TOS. My interpretation is that a nerve or blood vessel is pinched by spastic muscles. The solution would then be to get all your neck muscles to loosen up. Possibilities include: - self neck massage - warm wrap / bed buddy - julstro - sharon butler - stretches, especially scalene, but make sure you can do: - first rib mobilization (just posted a video) - self trigger point treatment - inversion table and/or neck traction - somatics - PT - chiro I've done most of the above. I don't have a direct fix for the ear, but when I improve my neck, everything else improves. |
