Default Jaw Numbness?

Something new to add to that strangling feeling I posted earlier about. As the being choked feeling at the base of my neck grew, and obvious tightness of the muscle going up from there (inner side of clavicle up to behind ear) and racing pulse and all, woke up last Friday with jaw and earache. Not much of a surprise. Did get it to loosen up over the weekend, some, but sometimes when I feel like it's tightening up again, I get this feeling like the whole side of my jaw goes numb for a minute or so. Anyone had this, know what it's about? I'm guessing it's just from the tight muscle. Hope so, not like I'll be able to get any of the doctors down here to pay attention to it.

many of those nerves run in the same areas..and if there is spasms (and trigger points w/ referred sx/pain ??) they can trap, compress or stick to the nerves and cause all sorts of weird feelings.

The numb jaw! Nothing to fear, it's common in my world. It seems to kick in with spasms in the scalene, pec and trap or any other combination. Sometimes I can release it by going under the jaw or internally looking for trigger points. Other times, I can only relax and wait for it to pass.
