Default duplex ultrasound

I'm getting one of these on Mon

I'm not worried about the test accept I wonder if it's going to show anything and if it does, are they even test in the right areas? I know my nerve areas down pat but not arteries. i definitely want them to look around my serratus anterior arm pit area. i think thats the axillary artery

has anyone else had experience with this? im getting my hopes up and im TRYING not to

also my trap is majorly inflamed. im wondering if that's gonig to show up on the test and or interfere with any results!!

i actually think the reason my arms are numb all the time is bc theres blood clot(s)

that's making my arms swell and press on my nerves to feel extra dead not positionally but ALL THE TIME and giving me neuro sx

or maybe its just compression. we'll see. im so exhausted from speculating but what can you do with ignorant doctors. what idiots, like someone who potentially has blood clots is going to LIFT WEIGHTS WTF.

I think if you have blood clots you would know by major pain , redness and swelling, and it would keep getting worse and worse until you had to go to the hospital.
My sis in law & a niece both have had clots (1 arm & 1 leg) it's not something you can ignore.

[[Symptoms may include sudden onset of pain, warmth, redness, blueness and swelling in the arm. These DVT's should be treated as an emergency,]]

This part is what I was thinking of , a sudden onset and would quickly continue to worsen if no treatment soon.

Both of theirs came on fairly fast and really hurt enough that they had to go to MD or ER within a day or 3.
They were both put on some meds (pain & thinners) and had to keep affected body part elevated as much as possible.

It will be good to get the testing done and have the info, ask for a copy of the results too, it's just handy to have your own copies of these things.

yeah i had a really really bad episode where my arms were completely swollen and i was bedridden for 2 days (i didnt have health insurance but i shouldve gone to er)

BUT
no redness and obv it slowly got better. not sensation in my hands, but the swelling did die way down until i was a goofball and lifted weights again. then had another episode.

i cant help but think that something about each episode ive had has done like semi-permanent damage to my body somewhere. i guess a really bad episode of compression in and of itself just leads to more compression regardless of how much you avoid aggravating sx and improve your posture.

also it is INSANE to me that i never even had one neck spasm in my life until october. my arms were dead 6 mos prior to that nonstop..

you can get vasc. tos without even having a neck spasm/ neck pain!!

i guess that's where being hypermobile comes in..

ive got to stop worrying about this. tgif everyone.

Are they looking at the arteries and veins? Where was your previous blood clot and did the doc say if it was superficial or deep? It is generally the deep vein ones that cause the problems.

I've had a number of ultrasounds and they aren't painful. It's actually kind of cool to watch the screen and see the blood flow. If you are afraid that the tech won't look at a certain spot ask them to do it. I've done that before and had the techs go above and beyond to make me feel more comfortable. It can't hurt. Good luck!
