Hello all. I was diagnosed with TOS end of last year and is scheduled for rib removal surgery in June. Thanks for all the info given. I am curious if there is a possibility that ATOS is genetic? My mother also suffers from numb hands, needles & pins . I have noticed that the inside thumb palm muscle of my daugher turn blue. Any research done on this?

i blame everything on genetics so youre probably anatomically inclined unless both of you worked terrible jobs for years with bad posture

I think TOS can be related to genetics , or the predisposition towards it.

It can be related to anatomy - a family trait could be lax joints/hyper-mobility, large bones, even certain postures can be a family trait just because of the way the body is built.

hypermobility is huge my dad and i are both hypermobile

however i guess he's just blessed with at least a little muscle, being male, to hold him in place whereas i don't have any muscle anywhere except for my neck. i think men tend to have more lower body problems, which he definitely has.
