Default Dr. Avery

Hello,

I have been to see Dr. A several times to discuss surgery and each time he takes about an hour for my appts. In my first appt he went over my complete history and was very detailed why he thought surgery was right for me. That's my only experience with Dr. A..... In the last 6 months I have read 6 or 7 posts from people who really like him before and after.....So far I'm at ease with him and trust him.

But anyone who's followed this site knows there's one person who didn't have a good turnout......

P.S. I think there's a gentleman named " David " who had both sides done by
Dr. A who loved him and who's doing great !!!

I had surgery with Dr. Avery more than 2 years ago. I felt very confident in his ability and he is great with people.

He spent about an hour with me the first meeting. He wanted me to do more PT and come back in 6 months if I wasn't better. I never felt pressured to go forward with the surgery.

Unfortunately, I had a bad outcome. My symptoms are worse and I've developed migraines, which I didn't have before surgery. I have also developed scar tissue on my brachial plexus.

I followed all my doctor's directions, did PT religiously, have kept myself in good health, and it just didn't work.

I chose surgery because nothing else was helping. You need to ask yourself whether you're ok with the chance that you could be worse after surgery. There are no guarantees and one cannot chalk up all bad outcomes to bad attitude or whatever.

Having said all that, I stilll feel good about Dr. AVery. He continued to meet with me every month or two for a year.

Good luck.

Kelly
