I also did quite a lot of the stuff from this site -
http://www.bodymindresources.com/Class1/Class1lab.htm He just did a rib mobilization maneuver. - none of the other PT or my DC ( or doctors) had tried that before for me. ahh love that google- http://www.google.com/search?q=rib+m...ient=firefox-a Just curious- Can most of you highlight a term in a post & then right click for an option "Search Google for" I suppose it should work with whatever your default search engine is... Or maybe it is a just a FireFox thing???

Good morning to everybody
Yes, the highlighting and searching works for me, too (I also have Firefox). I also have a lot of trigger points and.......as it happens I am just having a trigger point shock wave therapy. The second treatment will be this afternoon and I will happily tell you about it. After the first time I really experienced a lot of relief in the shoulder girdle and I could walk straight without having pain. I find it comforting to see that others also have sometimes more pain after the Butler excercices. It is, however, hard for my head to realize that pain could also be good for me but no matter how gentle I do the shoulder circling it does hurt a lot and I won't do it, maybe lifting shoulders gently like was shown to me in PT (is this the abbreviation for physiotherapy?) When are you doing the excercises? I try to do one session in the morning, all the excercises and the rest on the floor. In the evening, when everything has calmed down a bit in the house, I do the second session. I haven't done the meditation thing so far. As I have understood, some of you do the stretches just in between other things. The rib mobilization gets me back to Dr. Stoxen's presentation. In a way I was fascinated by his statements since obviously the ribs are the main culprits. I'll have my last physiotherapies this week and I have to say that it has become worse than better. The ostheopathy and cranial things definitively have not worked the way I had expected - at least for me. Yesterday night, when I was browsing the internet, I found the MR-neuropgraphy, something which seems to be absolutely new here in Germany. This is what I have been looking for. I was so fascinated to see every nerve and the exact place where it is compressed on the pics, but...... I am sure that my health insurance never ever will pay for this and I cannot afford to pay another examination out of my own pocket. As you know money is very limited these days here in Germany and we all have to pay a lot ............, but whom do I tell you this, poor America isn't better off. , if I may say so. Take care.

I don't know how you are doing your shoulder rolls, but I'd like to share the following:
-- I was doing full shoulder rolls front and back as part of my workout during the past couple years. Apparently doing them did not cure my mild TOS or prevent it from becoming major. -- The first chiro I saw gave me a guide with postural exercises, one of which is called "shoulder square shrugs". In the description it says "Do not roll forward. This causes impingement and unnecessary risk to the shoulder joint." -- I also noticed that Egoscue didn't seem to need them in his program for aligning the body and eliminating pain. So I don't do shoulder rolls any more. P.S. Same for full extension dips exercise. |

It makes sense what chroma says. I also roll the shoulders forward when doing the shoulder shrugs. Have to work on that. In an hour I'll go to the PT and tell her about the rib mobilization and in the afternoon I'll go to the doc for the trigger point thing. Another question (sorry that it is a bit off-thread): Do the ladies among you have a larger bust measurement? I think in my case - and many other cases, too - this contributes to that drag on the shoulders and I'll have to see how to better cope with this.

Hanna, there has been some older posts too, about various bras and such for TOS gals.
Probably a few years back, the search tool should bring them up.

Wonderful, thank you, will check on this. I am sewing my bras myself and maybe - when I found a good RTW bra - I can try to copy and adapt it. A special supporting bra I found here in Germany costs 89,-- Euros and that is a lot.
Yesterday the PT did the rib mobilization - although she insisted that I do not have problems with the rib - and for the first time I walked out of her office and had a lot of less drag in the shoulder, no aggrevated pain. Yet, she told me that she could not do anything for me and.......goodbye. She gave me the feeling that it was my fault that she could not go through her usual program. It was incredible and it hurt a lot. In the afternoon I had the shock wave therapy. It was ok, but did not yield the same relief as the first time. After I had taken a nap in the afternoon the cramping started and I was quite sad. I have contacted a doctor who is doing this MR-Neurography and he suggested that I should send copies of my testing results. He will decide then whether it is worth to make this neurography since only few people are allowed. P.S. I just did the "Bra-search" and it said "no results". I searched for bra and brassiere. What was wrong? See you

I'll try to find a few of them-
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...highlight=bras http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...highlight=bras http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...highlight=bras http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...highlight=bras Is the shock wave therapy another name for some type of electrical stimulation? Do they place sticky pads on you and set the machine to make your muscles tense up? If that sounds like it - they may have turned it up too high for you. Even my little EMS home machine can really make the muscles pull, I never go above a 4 except by accident mine has little dials instead of digital and if I bump them up by mistake youwwwwy. Sorry about your PT giving up, but maybe you'll come across a better one soon. I nearly always found a better one each time & I learned to tell if someone was not very good and move on -so I didn't waste time & $$.
