So this here thread about Sharon Butler's program is from 2011. I'm curious if there are any updates since then?

@Coop42, are you still doing the Butler program? Can you hold a stretch now? (See your earlier posts in here.)

@Hanna1, did you ever end up trying this?

Anyone else try this?

It still doesn't work very well for me to try and hold a stretch, although that's getting a little bit better all the time. Joint mobility has worked better for me, where you use movement, rather than hold a stretch. I think reading her book and learning about fascia, was more helpful to me, than the actual exercises she suggested. Once I understood that, I was able to start making up my own exercises.

I've been working at this for 3 1/2 years now, and progress comes slowly. I'm pretty excited because I can finally squat, without lower back and leg pain, after 23 years. The things that got me here are joint mobility, self-myofascial release, and vacuum cupping. I plan to post some videos on upper body mobility, on my youtube channel soon. Right now, I'm spending most of my time working on my lower body, trying to achieve a full flat-footed squat. I've posted some videos on myofascial release for the legs. Everything is connected, so I'm finding that better mobility in the lower body, helps the upper body, as well.
