Confused Surgery date set...wish me luck

Left rib resection & scalenectomy November 15th. Go back one month later for arterial stent placed.

Doc still insists I've got a 90% chance of improvement. I hope to god he's right.

Good luck . We know you'll do well and will come out of this feeling better! Please keep us posted on your progress. I also see Dr. Gelabert so I'm particularly anxious to hear all the details.

Best of luck...... get a head start on taking multi vits, healthy foods and drink water to get your immune system topped up.
TIP: get a soft sports bra.

Ooooh, thank you for that last tip!! May be TMI, but I CAN'T STAND not wearing a bra!! I did spend the evening reading all of your experiences in the post-surgery thread to glean as much info as possible, but didn't see that nor think of it.

I don't have a ton of time, but I will heed any and all advice. Vitamins and as much exercise as I can still tolerate (at least with my legs!) on my calendar for the next nine days.

I can't thank everyone enough, again. The information I've found here through various threads has been amazing, and although I'm terrified, I'm a positive and informed terrified!

Thank you for the reply.
Yes I'm about an hour away. I like details so please do tell all, good and bad.

Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know if I have any questions. Has he told you how long you will be in the hospital and what your post op restrictions will be? I know it all depends in what he finds and how you heal etc but has he given you some generalities?

Well, we're flying down the 14th, surgery on the 15th, and planning (tentatively of course) to fly home Thanksgiving morning (24th.) He's okayed this barring any post-surgical complications. Ive got severe but well-controlled-with-meds asthma, and that's his biggest concern with me now. Other than that, he won't give me much other than a HUGE range. I'm going to try to get more out of him and/or the pulmonologist on Wed for sure.
