Default Eye tracking mouse

I haven't tried this, just ran across it:

"Eye Tracking Mouse Helps Business Professional Suffering from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome"

http://www.eyetechds.com/eye-trackin...utlet-syndrome

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV3atqhTfo8

Quote:
Michael suffers from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) which prevents him from using a computer because the keyboard and mouse fatigue his arms and hands. Similar to other repetitive strain injuries (RSI) like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, TOS causes heaviness and pain in the arms and hands.

For more information about TOS and treatments for TOS there is great information at the PubMed Health website.

Michael controls the entire computer using his eye movements and his voice for a completely hands free PC experience. With this set-up Michael rarely will need to use a keyboard or mouse again. This has helped him stay productive for a local fire department in the Los Angeles area where he does a lot of data entry. He uses the EyeOn eye tracking mouse from EyeTech to control the mouse. He also uses the voice recognition software built into Windows 7 to type with his voice. This combination provides a natural way for him to control the computer completely hands free!

Neat article and interesting idea.

I appreciate this insight - I have been considering how I will hold down my job if I have to get surgery. I know initially I will definitely be out of commission, but trying to think of how to cope as I recover. I really, really can not afford to lose my job.

Thanks, chroma!

You're all welcome. And yes, as people learn about the device, please share here in this thread.

Thank you for the links. I tried to find a price for the one in the link but they make you request a quote. I did however find a site that sells something similar and it looks like they range in price from about $375 to $500.

Just an update to this thread.

http://www.cameramouse.org/

That is a free program that allows a computer camera to track your eye movement.

Boston College started that program in 2004, and I happened to stumble upon their link and realized it is quite a robust program.

Just a huge thank you to Dr. Peter Olivieri Computer Sciences Boston College

Keywords hands free mouse movement eye control
