thanks, your words mean a lot. i dont think anyone aside from the people who post here really udnerstand how much it means to lose sensation in your hands. everythign i do is COMPELTELY exhuasting. at work they def do not understand. i can only work part time because of it. and even that is very very hard. im obsessed with my hands like most people here are obsessed with scalenes. i have 5 pairs of gloves on. i used to have like 10 pairs of gloves, so i am better but still not normal
i tried doing pec minor release with a tennis ball on the wall and instantly felt tingling in my hand, pain thru my neck and sick. so i am telling my pt about this when i go tomorrow.

had first bad flare up in awhile after trying to release my p minor/armpit area (i think??)
everything including legs were tingling i guess this isnt TOS but PN in my tos area and spine? interesting how i am affected the next day, so my scalenes, pec minor then back of my shoulder and around the outside of my arm, outside of elbow (unusual) down my forearm to my index finger which feels tight this whole area feels like it has glue on it, there's no muscle there to be tight.especially in my forearm. and needley thigns deposited all along. i never wanted warm water after a flare up bc i found it irritating but now i like the warm water, so i am taking that as a good sign. otherwise ugh.

Have you ever tried Valium or Ativan? I'm on Valium at the moment and it has decreased my lumbar, ulnar, and cervical neuropathy. You may have tension you are unaware of irritating nerves.

Yup I def have tension all along my spine
I'm mobile in my spine but maybe too mobile thus tense dunno I am going to a pain management clinic finally so I will ask about those drugs Also I have major lumbar problems now or sciatica. So I need a lumbar MRI I guess. My calf muscles felt awful yesterday. It was like deja vu with my arms/arm pits

so normally i would go back to pt at this point and have her work on me since i have 5k needles along my back but i dont feel like paying for it. also not sure if that would help with my lumbar, thats a whole other thing id have to pay to be treated for outside of tos and i dont have the effing money to go in all the time. i like going in for her to show me exercises to keep my core strong but thats like once a month.
i hope the needle trigger points kind of go away on their own i should be grateful i am flaring up less and less but this one was bad. with flares i feel so self destructive and cranky, im sure u guys can all relate

im going to ***** about my legs here.
havent gotten into pain clinic yet for block im doing tennis ball on wall pretty aggressively on my back. someone psoted about teres minor and i was like oh i dont think mine is bad, but its BAD full of trigger points from doing rotator cuff strengthening. i still say strengthening rotator cuffs is pointless when you have weak l. traps and s.as. flipside, i cannot do tennis ball on the wall on my pec minor without tos flare. HRMM. if i hadnt gone to 2 different neuros id be worried that i have MS ive been strengthening my lower body, pre pt my hips were very much anteriorly rotated. so i had very tight hamstrings and low back ache but no neuropathy so i believe i have overcompensated and sometimes i go into too much of a posterior tilt (this is easy to do because im hypermobile). now my hamstrings are fine however i have sciatica. i'm a "toe walker" . exercises which involve strengthening one glute/one side flare me up. also i have "groin pain" i guess..the tendon or whatever there is triggerpointish after doing a few one legged exercises, and having a tos flare, i started to get REALLY heavy feeling in both my legs and major shin pain. needles all along my shins. it was like deja vu of my heavy arms from tos. the shin pain actually made me want to puke and ive read that people with l4 impingment are "heel walkers"..so i think that's what started happening to me. bending foreward makes this worse anything on one leg or where my hips shift to one side is bad i saw a video on youtube about the mckenzie protocol for low back nerve impingment and sciatica where your back is hyperextended. i didnt expect it to help bc the position looks really irritating but it totally helped. so now im back to anterior tilt land. trying to make sure i remember to breathe thru my diaphragm.

I think she was referring to the sensation of having gloves on due to lack of sensitivity in her hands. Before surgery I had the same problem though I didn't feel like I had gloves on like she does. Mine was more lack of light touch sensitivity and I just had to work so HARD to do anything with my hands.

I have stiffness, coldness, lack of sensitivity, numbness, pins and needles, burning and the skin itself is weird.. I get irritated if I touch certain textures (mentally irritated..like..grr) such as old shoe laces or cardboard. I never thought of it as being similiar to gloves! |
