[QUOTE=nospam;899298]I survived my first 4 days back at work!

This week, I graduated into Advanced Exercise in therapy. This basically is a 30 minute Pilates session after manual therapy. The one-on-one sessions with the instructors is the best thing I've done in regards to isolating underused muscles and restoring proper function. I'm definitely planning to continue the Pilates after I am discharged from therapy (which may be soon). I am a Pilates believer!

Awesome, I cant wait for that part! I too started work on Wednesday. I got really sore neck (Traps, but my arm shoulder and hand are not too bad)

I feel like I am almost fully healed from TOS. Unfortunately, I still have some residual occipital neuralgia and mild neck pain. I think the source is actually the cervical facet joints (c2/c3/c4?) on the right side (that is where the pain is when I palpate). The left isn't hurting much anymore and the SCMs feel loose. If this doesn't clear up soon, I will talk to the neurologist about doing direct facet block injections instead of paraspinal trigger points.

Regardless, I am steadily improving and getting my life back! Next goal: lose 15 lbs!
Happy to hear you are doing so well!

Heart Catalina Island

Yesterday was my wife's birthday. We had been trying to go to Catalina Island for two years but my health and other factors prevented it. We finally booked a day trip (the boat ride to the island is free if it's your birthday). I wanted to make her birthday memorable even if it meant enduring some pain.

It turned out to be an amazing day and a testament to the progress I've made. Armed with my IntelliSkin V-Tee as an undershirt we hiked and toured Avalon, the high point being that I was able to participate in the Catalina Zip Line Eco Tour and survived with no ill effects as of tonight!

Just a few months ago I was at my lowest point, thinking I would never enjoy life again like I used to. I would have never believed anyone who told me I would be zip lining just two months after my last surgery!

Quote:
The ultimate island interior tour

Propel down 5 seperate zip lines dropping from 500 feet to 60 feet above sea level with one run that is 1,100 lineal feet long all on its own. They are calling this new zip line 'perfect'.

This incredible experience will forever change your idea of what a tour should be. You will travel close to three quarters of a mile over five consecutive zip lines at heights of 300 feet above the canyon floor at speeds pushing 45mph.

Beginning at the Hog's Back gate, high in the hills near Avalon and descending through Descanso Canyon, you will pause at several eco-stations along the way before continuing on your journey. At each station, your hosts will give you a presentation on some of the unique and interesting aspects of Catalina Island, its wildlife, history, and the areas you are passing through.

Eventually exiting at Descanso Beach your journey will last approximately 2 hours and your memories will last a lifetime.

Right now I am doing "Scapular Stabilization" utilizing the Pilates Reformer and resistance bands (all done laying on my back flat, on a wedge or on a foam roll). Having the Pilates instructor and Reformer machine really makes a difference in doing the motions properly with correct posture (for me at least). It gives me more confidence in knowing the proper form when doing my home exercises.

Interesting. I've never seen one of those before. Do you own one, or just use it at the physical therapy place?
