No. But I used to take a TON of ibuprofen every day. It didn't do much and was actually bad for me..if anything. But for a flare up maybe it does help. I have some etodolac I might try again.

I'm going to take liquid magnesium now. Maybe it'll absorb better while I'm on pills. That was a big problem for me. Malabsorption

You need to take Calcium for the Magnesium to absorb.

thanks so much, ive been worrying about this quite a bit. so i will request an x-ray no ct scans.........

do you know if surgery (?) to fix an enlarged transverse process is as invasive as say...a rib ressection? i have ehlers danlos syndrome and im terrified of scar tissue.

i'm a worry wort after all the stress i've been through. i feel like mentally i have to juggle in my head each day how much my physical therapy for winged scapulas is working for me.

I had this, and its the exact same surgery.

i'm going to request a copy of an xray..its weird bc i dont remember getting an xray done and its not showing up on the internet under aetna either

tossucks was yours REALLY big? what constitutes really big, do you know? did you pass your emg/ncv..blood flow tests?

you still post here so am i to assume the surgery was a flop? do you have a cervical rib

tossucks 04-04-2012 11:00 PM

Maybe I am confusded....did you mean a elongated C7 transverse processes, or actually enlarged? I had the first, not the latter. I have never heard of enlarged, but who knows?
And no cervical rib here.

mspennyloafer 04-05-2012 07:41 AM

no i mean elongated. my pt said large but wahtever, she means elongated

how did you dx yours, did you recover at all? you have tos still right/

i mean lengthwise..is it really obvious in an xray that its too long

tossucks 04-05-2012 06:28 PM

It was not detected on any of the scans/x-rays I had, was not found until the surgeon got me open. I had severe compression on the Arteries and Veins. No amount of pt or stretching could fix it, but it was not an issue until I had an injury in the wearhouse at work. :(

that's crazy

so you were getting a scalenectomy i guess or??

if i ever get better i am walking around with a body cast on, no joke. i'm scared to death of accidents now.

I guess you never truly value your health until you lose it.

I used to want to be a professional athlete. I believe my true talent was in football but my parents refused to allow me to play tackle (only flag) and even sent me to a private school with no football team. I played basketball but was never good or tall enough to go pro. I am now grateful that I was never able to play pro. This pain has changed my entire outlook on high injury risk sports. I still watch a lot of sports, but the injuries and near misses I see seem to amplify my own pain. This latest NFL scandal about coaches offering incentives to purposely injure opposing players sickens me.
