Although some studies are from years ago, I really liked the huge sample size of this one:

I have read this article before but just reread it. I find particularily interesting the NCV scores and will have to go back and look at my reports. I also had never read the discussion which was interesting. Good to note in terms of overall surgical approach that this article was written in 1994 . I have an updated Chocrane Report that I will try and post on a new thread.

I do this routine twice a day. It does feel good to do it along with cardio.

The only thing which has really helped me though is manual therapy. I receive 2+ hours of hands on therapy per week focused on myofascial release and breaking up scar tissue and adhesions. I wish I had done this at the start of my problems. I will be returning to an Osteopath soon.

Where are you in the East Bay? There was/is a PT in Berkeley named Lori Sweet who treats TOS. I can't find a link for her as she is either no longer in practice or I'm spelling her name wrong. Dr. Ellis would probably have a contact number for her.

Anne

Add-on Edit: Sorry to read Peter is no longer practicing. He's such a nice guy and always a comfort when in pain.
Thanks so much Anne, for all your guidance and info I will definitely look up Lori Sweet. I will try an contact Dr. Ellis for her info. I am in San Ramon, close to Pleasanton and Dublin. Thx for your thoughts on Peter, he really is a sweet guy.
I really wish I could get some hands on therapy by someone who knows TOS well, you are so lucky!

Good luck for your recovery, stos2

I am looking for a place like this in L.A. Especially a chiropractic office with Trigger Pt and Myofacial massage that takes insurance. I am going to see Dr. Ando per Marc's recommendation but it is an hour away and my Pt is due to run out soon.

In Los Angeles, Dr. Paul Methot, chiro, includes myofascial release in his treatment. He is at Healing Hands Wellness Center in Larchmont.

Anne,

Sorry I just saw this today. Thanks so much. Did you have any specific Therapist you were referring to? Is It Carolyn Hamilton or Pat Scott? Has anyone with TOS seen them?

Stos2: I believe they both have a lot of experience with TOS, but each therapist is different in their technique. Maybe you could see both and decide if there is a fit for you.

I'm glad you found Lori as well. You have a lot of excellent options to chose from now. I'm jealous!

Hope you can avoid surgery again with some good hands-on work.

Thx so much Anne! Do you know any of us who has been to either Carolyn or Pat?

If you mean "us" as Neurotalk, I do not know anyone. I know from my other travels with TOS.

Since you are post-surgical, I know they work on patients who have had surgery. This is very valuable as I've been told by many a PT, Chiro, Osteo, etc that they would no longer work on me if I had surgery. I do not know about Lori Sweet, but I'd assume she'd see post-surgical patients as well since Ellis referred her at one time. I think she is more Edgelow-esque (can that be a word?) than the other two.

Good luck!
