Ok, after soaking the rib in a solution of ammonia and water for a few weeks, I scrubbed it with a wire brush used for paint removal. It's still got a ways to go, but I wanted to actually see the bone--and its covered very tightly with muscle. Ugh.
Is it strange that I get pangs in my chest when I see this? |

How are you doing, Blurto? Are you home yet? You have me worried with your cryptic post!!
Well, it's not ticklish anymore, haha. I'm not really sure where to store it! |

Thanks for sharing. Is the knobby end the part that attaches to the sternum?

I make a delicious goulash that leaves leftovers that look like this.

Astern, my family is mostly vegetarian except for myself. It'll be a loooong time before I can even think about ribs as food. It's gross to say, but they are remarkably greasy.

That's why ribs are so delicious! The fat content is through the roof. I've cut out red meat but I really miss my favorite BBQ Beef Ribs.

Good point, Marc. Kind of like duck, I suppose. I have to admit that it took me a good couple of weeks to gain enough detachment (distance/objectivity) to clean the rib. Actually, it doesn't look as deformed as I thought it would!

Hmm I was guessing that the knobby part attached to the spine. So which is it?
And why is it so small? Is that just a portion of the rib or are you a tiny person? |
