Is Dr. Weaver conservative with doing surgery for those with NTOS or VTOS? I have VTOS and some people say that the healing process is easier, whereas I've also read the possibility of scar tissue and possible nerve damage. Do you know his thoughts on this?

Any other LA doctors you've been to and their opinions? I.e. UCLA?

It seems in general that people with VTOS recover more quickly after reading a lot of peoples posts here and on Facebook.

I think it may be because they tend to get surgery more quickly than the ATOS or NTOS people. With VTOS, your hand turns blue and when doctors can physically SEE something is wrong on the outside, then they are more likely to get surgery when they need it unlike those of us that complain of "invisible" pain.

And with VTOS there is often a clot involved and compression visible in an MRI or CT. Hence, the source of the problem is often obvious. This is far from the case where someone reports pain. Surgery for NTOS often fails probably because compression against the rib wasn't the source or the only source of the problem int eh first place. It's much more difficult to diagnose NTOS cases. Scelene blocks only show so much. In general, if yo have NTOS and your find a surgeon that wants to rush into surgery, you should go see someone else.
