Confused point me in the right direction, Please.

Ok ya all, I am in need of some directional guidance here. I need to find a dr. or something that will stand behind me on my work comp case. One that's not afraid to go up against insurance company's and there medically challenged lawyer's. So far my doctor's wont give a causual link between my tos and work. As everyone knows with out that link your pretty much, for lack of better word, screwed. I have worked as a mechanic my whole life, and that was mostly all done overhead. i have had the rib resection bilat, three c/t releases and still more problems then i really care to deal with. My lawyer is at the point that he has no more ideas for me and has no clue where to go next. its been 4 years and running since it has all started. still waiting on SSI's hearing in november to see if that happens after 3 years of filing. What doesn't help is no income, no insurance and no way to pay for the specialist that can help me get things corrected. Where do you turn too in this case, cause I'm all out of ideas and to tell you the truth i'm ready to give up. on top of the everyday pain that keeps me from doing pretty much anything with the left arm, i feel useless and just plan feed up. Not having insurance or money to even be able to see a doctor that can perscribe me some pain killers or anti depressants can take a toll on a body. Does anyone have any idea's of were to turn to for the help that i need, i cant keep this up much longer before i start to go off on ppl... thanks.

I hope you can get some good suggestions & help soon.

The only things I can think of are writing to legislators/gov officials & telling them how this is affecting your life.

Maybe post on some medical, legal or doctor forums asking for pro bono help with your case??

be sure to check back during the week since it's a holiday and weekend.

Hi Chris,
boy can I empathize....... if it weren't for Dr. Togut in Wilkes-Barre, PA I would be exactly in your shoes today. For me, it was the records and statements from Dr. Togut - I'm absolutely sure of it - that helped me finally win my LTD and SSDI cases. He is that doctor who is not afraid to tell it like it is, to put in writing that you cannot work (and why), and to stand up for you. I don't know where I'd be today without his help. I know that given your situation it may not be possible to see him, but if there is any way at all that you can, I think it could make all the difference for your future. Granted, it would not solve your insurance and a pain relief issues in the short term, but there is a chance it could help in the long term. I realize travel expenses and his Dr. fee (I paid out-of-pocket to see him - I think it was around $350 not including travel) could make it implausible for you, but I thought I'd throw it out there since it made such a huge difference in my case. I'll PM you some additional info.

God bless,
Nolina

Sad to hear of your situation. I hope this helps you in some way.
When I signed up to use angelflight they didn't require me to bring anything but a note from my doctor.

I ended up not using angelflight because my caretaker didn't want to fly home alone with the pilot over the rockies.(coming back from Denver)They were going to fly a small plane. I have heard that sometimes they give you airline tickets.

There is some info on getting free airfare from the airlines such as Southwest, etc.
