I found this PT list after talking to Dr. Ando about referrals elsewhere. This is where he studied and they have a certification process. They have a Center in Colorado and now in NYC. He recommended a PT in NYC: Dr. Greene who is on the list.

jkl626, I wrote to Ann on your list. The following is what she wrote. This is a giant piece of hope for me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
<<Yes, thoracic outlet syndrome can be very persistent unless you get the right treatment. Just doing exercises alone is often not enough. I do extensive manual therapy to mobilize the first rib, upper thoracic joints, and clear out the restrictions along the nerve itself. Stretching the scalene and pecs are also important. If you haven’t tried using a foam roller to help loosen yourself, that would help too. I’ve had very good success with this with many of these patients. I’d be happy to take a look and see if I can help you!>> |

Hooray Hooray!! I hope she helps. A Foam Roller is what I use and it is great!! Good Luck , Give it a couple of weeks and let me know! Tell her I got the list from Dr. Ando' (My PT) website. She might know him or know of him.

I am re-posting a link to Dr. Arthur Ando's Bio. http://www.andoaston.com/staff
At JKL's and my request, he was kind enough to write up his 5 Step Functional Care Approach for TOS in PDF format and gave permission to share with the forum. This is a one pager you can print and share with your therapist if you so desire. Unfortunately, we can not upload copyrighted material directly to the forum. He will get this posted to his website so we can link to it eventually. In the meantime, send me a PM with your email address and I will send you the document.

How encouraging! I am in MN and will be curious to hear how it goes. I am struggling with 6 months of pain in the armpit area around pectoralis minor. Have seen sport med doc, spine doc, shoulder doc, and now a neurologist. I have an EMG scheduled for Aug. 2nd. I have been reading about TOS and wondering if that is what is going on with me?!?!?! It all started after a pt did some mobilizations on my 1st rib because she said it was out of place. How/where we're you diagnosed in MN?
