Ok, call me stupid but I have a sleep study tonight and will not get released until 6 or 7am and I really want to watch my son in a bsaeball tournament 2hours away. He plays at 845am, but has to be there at 745 so he is traveling tonight and staying with friends in a hotel. I will make the trip after my sleep study. I know I will have to take several breaks and probably some pain meds when I get there, but it will be worth it, RIGHT. He plays all weekend starting tomorrow, so after I get there he will do all the driving including home on sunday. These will be last games of season I can watch because of my surgery next week. My wife thinks I am crazy for doing this, but how many of you would do the same. My wife can not go because of her job so it is either I drive down or do not go.

Hmmm 2 hr drive?? wow
What is your pain level on an avg day? I did do some 3 hr drives, but no sleep study the night before ![]() I suppose how comfortable your car is to drive will be a big factor and the seat/ steering angles... any friend, other team parent, other family member available to drive w/you? Will the sleep study be keeping you awake on purpose or just interfering w/normal sleep? I guess I am concerned about the possibility of you dozing off more than anything at first , then the possibility of a flare later on. Safety for yourself and other drivers is the main concern. And I don't remember if you are on any major pain meds, that might affect you with the additional lack of sleep. If not then lots of coffee & OTC pain pills for discomfort??? I've never tried any of the 5 hr energy, or drinks like that so can't comment on those.

I say do it...family trumps TOS. Plus you have a driver once you get there and for the drive back. I would do it myself!

ok, I did the drive stopping 5 times on the way for breaks. That night was pretty painful. I can not really take much because I have surgery on Wednesday. I got there and my son had a huge smile when I arrived, so it was well worth it. So far he has driven me around and we will head back tomorrow. Doing much better today.

well I made it back home and I can say the trip was well worth the suffering. Marc you are right, family trumps TOS. I get to catch one more game tomorrow and then tuesday is pre op and surgery wednesday. Little painful today and shaking from spasms from the ride home, just being a passenger sucks, but well worth it.
