I am waiting for my apt to be approved (insurance wise) with Dr. Thompson. It is a four hour drive but I am SOOO ready. I hope its soon. I will most certainly let the group know how it goes.[/QUOTE]

I'd really appreciate that. I'm thinking about at least getting his opinion in my case.

How did you go about getting started... did you just call them or did your doctor refer you? What past information did they require. I'm about 10 hours away.

Sundance,
Basically I confused the medical folks. I passed every imaging test they gave me. Only the emg and physical movement exams showed anything being off. I had several procedures for wrong diagnoses and still hurting with massive functional limitations.

I finally threw a level fit (not suggested but after nearly 10 months I was done) and made him look outside the box as he had 'exhausted all of the regular suspects." I had done my own research and spoken with dozens of folks (patients, case managers, nurses and Docs) and brought it up to him as a possible. He was open to the suggestion as he was stumped (and willing to admit that). My doc sent over my file for review. So now I am impatiently waiting for the apt date.

From what I understand Thompson will want a full physical exam...possibly including other specialties. He works with a team of medical professionals. PT, Neuro, Ortho, Psych etc. So I am planning on being there a few days. I will camp out in my truck if need be. At this point I am willing to do nearly anything to get this arm fixed. There is a lot of great info on his website and the staff was awesome with answering my questions over the phone and by email.

Thanks Daesin. I appreciate all the information. My vascular surgeon knows Thompson and they worked together in the past on some things. I think I would few better if I could have him review my case. I have a pretty extensive file.

I pray you find help and everything goes better than great for you!!

Default Dr.Donahue MGH

I am new to the forum. I have finally been diagnosed with bilateral NTOS with arterial compression by Dr. Donahue after 1.5yrs of run arounds by others. I tried pt and botox without result. So I am scheduled for first rib resection and scalenectomy next Wednesday. I am understandably nervous and anxious. How did others turn out and recovery time?
