Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if any one had tried hyperbaric chamber treatments for their TOS. If anyone has, I would be very grateful to know how you fared with this treatment. Thank You Joshua |

HI Joshua,
I have tried HBOT threatments following my TOS surgery. I thought they were successful but expensive. They definetely helped the spasms. Let me know if you have other questions. Thanks |

Hi Joshua,
On one of the earlier incarnations of the MGH BrainTalk TOS board an RN named Heather Guhl was doing research into the use of HBOT for TOS. I believe she found it would benefit many TOSer's, though not all could tolerate it due to co-existing health conditions. She ended up working with an HBOT center or chain of centers, I believe in CA. Unfortunately, the expense isn't covered by insurance, and many sessions are usually required. And outside of CA, free-standing centers are hard to find. However, if you have access to one and can cover the cost or get insurance to do so, I think it would be very beneficial. Can anyone provide the link to the WayBack Machine and from there to the MGH forum archived posts from 2000 or so? I know those posts were from before I came (2003), but I used to prowl through them- many crashes ago. It's a real shame so much valuable information was never recovered. |

Joshua,
I have the HBOT information Beth spoke about from the old Braintalk forum. It took me quite a while to get it posted last night as it has lots of information. This morning when I came to the board it had been removed from the board by a moderator. There were things in her post that went against the terms of service of NeuroTalk; such as her personal information and they don't post copyrighted material here, they say that the Braintalk info belongs to Braintalk. If you want the info I'd be happy to e-mail it to you if you want to send me a PM. I worked on taxes for the past two days and these arms just can't do all the editing that NeuroTalk moderators are requesting. Sincerely, Martha |
