Hello all,

I joined the forum as my partner has damaged nerves at plexus brachialis (at neck). Cause has been injury.

As a result left hand does not function any more. Wrist and arm still work. There is also a lot of loss in sensitivity in both hand and arm. Thumb and first finger still have quite intact senses.

The myeline shaft of the nerve is intact, which means regrowth of this periphal nerve is possible. I am very aware that this is a slow process.

I am concerned that due to the large distance to be grown (full arm) there will be no result at all.

I am very curious if anyone has experience with improvement after say 1-2 years for this particular kind of periphal nerve damage.

In the meantime, excercise with hand is done to keep muscles in better shape.

Any other advice is most welcome too.

My understanding is that a brachial plexus injury is somewhat a different beast than Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. A Neurosurgeon should be consulted.
