Default Chinese Therapy Balls

Has anyone ever tried these Chinese Therapy Balls that you roll around in your hands? I'm thinking about getting a pair to try. I've been having pretty good luck with the old school stuff.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z22-s__ZrhU

Default Got a pair

I bought a pair of those Chinese exercise balls off of Amazon for 5.25 and shipping was free, so I'm not out much if I don't like them.

They just came and I played with them a little bit. I have no coordination.

The card in the box says," The Chinese exercise balls are designed for the exercise of hands, which could improve hand dexterity and strength, as well as to strengthen the nervous and circulatory systems." We'll see what happens.

I'll give a report after I use them for a while, whether it's thumbs up, or just flare up.

I think for me they would be too much of a repetitive thing.
I still have troubles with that type of thing since my TOS happened due to chronic RSIs.

Good luck, I hope they help for you.

This is very interesting! It never would have occurred to me to use these for TOS relief. I had a pair that I used to strengthen my left hand back when I was learning to play guitar. Actually I should say trying to learn guitar; I have a tin ear and was pretty hopeless. ;-) The balls get easier to use as you practice, although clockwise never got as easy for me as counterclockwise... I look forward to hearing how they work for you!

PS to Jo*mar - I'm extremely envious - the thermometer at the bottom of your post says it's 78F where you are. It was 108F here today! So ready for summer to be over!

We topped out at 92 or so but the coast air does a nice job of cool down for evening this time of year.
next week we might get some rain and 60's for the high.

Cooler weather and maybe some rain will be good for the fire fighters, we have a few forest fires happening in Oregon.

Like Jo*mar said, I think it will be too much of a repetitive movement.

I think exercises which require strength are much better. I have a Powerball and that worked for me.

Default Doing pretty good with these

I've been using these for a couple of weeks now and they're working pretty well for me.

The first couple of times I used them my arms ached pretty bad for a couple of hours after, and I had tingling in my surgical arm, so I waited a couple of days before I used them again. Then I did them for a shorter period of time and it was OK. As soon as I feel tension building up in my arms, I stop, and put them away.

My coordination is getting a little bit better every day. It's like Losinghope said, it's a lot easier to go in one direction than the other. At first I could't do it at all but I'm gradually getting it.

I don't think these would be good if you're in a lot of pain, but if you're doing good, they might be helpful to get some of your finger dexterity back.
