Default Do you attend W/C hearings?

I don't go to the hearings I let the atty handle everything and he tells me what transpires.... I'm wondering if it's time that I step in and listen to the actual hearing afterall, it is about me. I'm not sure what to do, it's a crucial turning point. Advice...

I only had to appear at the final hearing and it turned into a settlement agreement instead.
There are usually letters, calls and depositions taken by attys that you don't need to be there for.
But I have only gone thru the system to a hearing one time - and that took 2.5 yrs- my case probably was simpler than more detailed and more severe injury cases.

I remember Tam saying she has gone to a few for her case.

I was told that I should attend ALL my hearings. Actually, I had a hearing about a year or so ago that I attended that if I wasn't there, all would have been in shambles. There was a miscommunication and everyone thought that I was receiving partials when in all reality, I wasn't. If I hadn't stepped in by shaking my head no, it could have taken a few months to clear all up. So I suggest that you attend everything, even if it is only for 5 minutes or so.

I am waiting on a court date for my appeal to the WC judge. I was told by the attorney that I have to be there but will be sitting outside in another room and don't need to do anything??????? I am guessing I can insist on going into the court room?
It is amazing to me how many times I have to refresh my attny's assist. I would almost be afraid not to be in the court room.

My case was civil not w/c I didn't have to go to court. We settled. Sometimes I wish we went to trial but the stress was making me upset and, at the time, I was pregnant. The whole thing was very emotional and I didn't think I could handle it. I was either going to come out with ALOT more than we settled on or, maybe nothing. It was time for me to get on with my life and forget about what the doctors did to me. I also, didn't want it in the papers, which could have happened. Situations close to mine have been in the papers and I don't want it.

I do think that everyone has to stand up for their rights. I did in the law suit and went through all the typical crap. I didn't have enough evidence to really stick it to them. Cant' put the family through more than we've already been through.

Each of you who are going through W/C or ANY other lawsuit for this dreaded TOS, Best of luck and I hope the outcome is good. It is a shame it takes so long.
