I've only tried Tramadol...sometimes, and only at night. And while it works reasonably well it also makes me sleepy and sometimes nauseous. I don't mind using it for pain control while I wait for a more permanent solution, i.e. surgery, but I don't want to be tied down to a medication for the rest of my life especially when I cannot function normally on it. I have been offered neurontin many times but I am very hesitant to try it because of the side effects.

Tramadol will take the edge off on a good day I have been given lortab 10 while I wait for surgery.....they make me so sick I was on neurotin for a year with the nerve issues I have in my foot. I didn't have any side effects except sleepiness at first. Sadly it didn't work. I am with you I hate drugs I just want to be fixed. Just waiting on a call from the surgery scheduler
