Anyone have issues with their middle finger? Mine will go numb and ache like a toothache for a couple days and then it just disappears.....then will come back in 3-5 days. My husband swears it's God telling me to quit giving people the finger...LOL Originally my PT told me it was cervical radiculopathy but my MRI was negative for spine issues. Any thoughts?

Its definitely TOS related. I'll have something similar- pain for 2-4 days, which goes away for up to a couple weeks before coming back. My pain fluctuates though- it goes from being dull to sharp and then back again, cycling every hour and a half or so. The pain could get much sharper in my left hand, though.
I can't remember the biological explanation for why this happens this happens, but my doctor did mention its a fairly common symptom (if I'm remembering correctly). Maybe somebody else can chime in with some facts that are *actually* useful? |

Middle finger is median nerve. This could be caused by TOS, cubital tunnel, or carpal tunnel. TOS generally includes the ulnar nerve (4th and 5th digits). Maybe an EMG/NCV study would be indicated. Find some median nerve stretches/glides and try those. You may need to find a different PT as they should have tried treating you for carpal and cubital tunnel.

I read its specific to c7 I agree with nospam its not necessarily from the tos I think people with tos complain about their ulnar more than median
