Default Sleeping/Waking up without Pain?

First off, I know how lucky I am to be able to sleep without pain.

I'm curious if anyone else out there also has this experience? I've been dealing with my shoulder and neck pain for nearly two years and now it is at the point where all I do is lie down all day, yet I've always done very well while sleeping. When I go to bed, I'm in pain, but if I wake up in the night I don't have any pain, and I am pain-free for the first 2 or 3 minutes in the morning.

I always attributed this to relaxing of muscles and maybe also diaphragm breathing, but no doctor has been able to explain it to me.

Anyone else?

My experience has been the same...no explanation.

Same most nights. Some nights however, I will wake up from pain if I roll on my side.

Ugh, I know that feeling BRMR19. My body still instinctively avoids rolling onto the side I had my surgery on, but the nights I've rolled onto my other side, I wake up instantly knowing what I did.
