I could be mistaken, but I thought the diagnostic inj were usually marcaine (sp)or Novocain type mixes and called a block?
But I suppose botox might be used also.. I think sometimes the marcaine or Novocain mixtures or botox inj can be ongoing as treatments. But I don't have any first hand knowledge on those, so I hope others that have been that route will chime in and share what they know about it. |
I believe Drs. Sheldon Jordan and Dean Donahue skip the diagnostic Marcaine block and use Botox for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Jordan's is EMG-guided, not sure about Donahue.
|
Dr Donahue used ultrasound guided Botox injections. Hopkins (Dr. Freishlag used the Marcaine block. Dr. Donahue doesn't normally use Botox as an ongoing treatment, only as a diagnostic tool.

How did you make out? I just had the same done on Friday at MGH and I'm feeling worse since the shots but its only been 2 days and they said I could get a flare up. I just hope this doesn't last 3-4 months. I was doing really well with PT for TOS but never quite able to get "better". My hope was the shots would push me over the line Thanks |
