Default Disability Insurance Before Surgery?

Is there any kind of disability insurance that one could take out in case a TOS operation goes horribly wrong on you and you cannot work?

Or is it like a pre-existing condition now and no one would touch you.

Just wondering if there is something for if you like are near death afterwards that you could take out.

Probably not but thought I'd throw it out there.

If you are disabled after surgery, long-term disability either through a company with your company's insurance, or social security disability is available in those cases.

I consider myself disabled now (because my symptoms are so severe which is partially due to the surgery but it could also be due to time and more nerve damage etc.) and am eligible for both.

It's a good idea to look into it, especially if you are relatively early in the diagnostic phase. I had it through work and it really saved my bacon. If you are you, LTD is relatively inexpensive.

That should have read, "if you are young, it's relatively inexpensive."
