Hi... I am 2 weeks post op, a other of four children aged 3-10yrs and finding the pain of my first rib resection pretty overwhelming times.... I have one endone tablet left and have been prescribed panadine forte with the proviso of coming back tmorrow if this hasn't helped enough. Well for a pill that is ment to last for 6 hrs I am struggling to go 2-3hours. But I know I am doing too much ut have no option... Do. G back and ask for more or suck it up and push on through my daily chores? Unfortuneatley groceries, cleaning, washing clothes and dishes, and driving isn't really an option for me the pain is making breathing a teary task everything else an impossible nightmare don't want to be wimpy and a sook but I am not sure I can push on much longer....

Don't hesitate to call your doctor. If you are in that much pain, he should respond to you with more medication. This is only for a short time really, so he should not have an issue with it. Tell him that coping isn't going so well with a family and that you are in tears much of the time. I wish you all the best. ginnie

I had my kids start doing their own basic laundry when My RSI/TOS was very bad. And unloading the dishwasher. Delegate some of those chores, you need time to recuperate. Kids will help if you explain and ask for help.
It may not get done perfectly, but you need to let some of chores go for best results post op.
