Question How do you get a Dx?

I am beginning to think my shoulder pain is TOS and not the herniated disk in my neck. How do you get a Dx on TOS?
I can tell you my Dr. won't know what I am talking about... argh..

But I had pain in my shoulders while sleeping and then they did the MRI which showed the herniated disk in my neck (C5/C6). the did epidural which did not work. However when they did the medial branch block/facet joint injection it did seem to help.

But OUCH.. the shot has wore off and my shoulder under my arm and on the top of my elbow, my trapezeous and scalene muscles hurt bad, and I have this swelling at the supraclavicular area (ultrasound and xray couldnt find a reason for swelling)... sigh..

Sooo there is a lot of reading on here, can anyone narrow this down?

Thank you so much.

Did you find our Drs & PTs sticky thread?

Or post your area so members can suggest any TOS drs nearby.

If no TOS specialists are close perhaps seek out a savvy expert PT for a full evaluation.
You can call various PT places or possible even chiropractors and ask them if the have treated TOS/thoracic outlet syndrome, but they may just say yes, or they may say what ???

Some only slightly know about it and no set PT plan fits for us, treatment has to be personal and case by case..and adjusted as it goes along.. no quick fixes usually.
A chiro may be good to check with also, if there's possibility that misalignments
could be a factor. Whiplash, sports hits, falls, accidents...etc.

Also posture should be addressed, shoulders and head aligned with hips and knees when looking from the side..

Smile thank you

No, I did not see anyone close to Austin TX. There is probab;y 500 chiropractors here... gosh.. can't call them all. I went to one and he just made things worse.

I just wonder if bilateral shoulder pain is even on the list for TOS?

I will say that after doing the stretches on the video's my pain is way less today.. matter a fact almost gone..

It's so insane that a person can't get a Dx on this.. How long has TOS been around now and still they have no clue... argh..

Thanks for any comments.
