Johanna's easy cinny buns

alright you guys... to heck with cinnabon for those of us on a budget...cinny rolls are SOOOOOOOOOOO easy to make. mine come with no icing, and heavy on cinny

get a roll of frozen bread dough
thaw it, roll it out into a rectangle
coat it with some butter or margarine
sprinkle on liberal amounts of cinnamon and sugar (like well coated cinnamon toast)
add raisins if you like (i do!)
add nuts if you like (i don't!!!)
roll it up into a log
cut it into slices 1-2 inches thick (depending on how big you want the rolls)
put the slices swirly side down in a greased 9x13 pan
let rise until double in size (warm counter for fast, refrigerator for overnight)
bake at 350 until the tops start to turn a little brown
take out of oven, let cool a little
enjoy.

frankly for me it is easier than all the trekking in and out of car to cinnabon since they are all in malls!

that sounds good johanna.... mmm. If thats too much work try the pillsbury with the cream cheese icing. :D

Oh that same dough is great for making Elephant ears too!

just thaw it
cut into portion sizes
roll it out - thicker or thinner as you like your E ears

heat vegetable oil in a heavy deep skillet or heavy pan { 1"-2" inches deep}

carefully place dough and let fry til golden - turn over with tongs

when color is nice place on paper towels to drain then shake cinnamon sugar mix
or maybe you have to brush some butter on and then sprinkle the cin/sugar mix

Ok wasn't sure so looked it up

[ELEPHANT EARS

2 loaves frozen bread dough
1 stick melted butter
Cinnamon
Sugar

Thaw bread dough. Tear off a section (like you would if making hamburgers). Work all the bubbles out with your hands. Stretch if out as far as you can, without tearing the dough. Drop into hot grease
{I use veg oil} and deep fry until golden brown. Spread on hot melted butter while dough is hot. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Serve while warm for best taste.]
