Default Verrry Interesting....

My acupuncture doc tells me that my adrenals are stressed, acupuncture is very helpful for my depression, maybe a little for pain. You have to find an acupuncture doc that is well versed in neurogenic pain or they can hurt you.( W. Ellis M. D.)

I recently found out that about half of my thyroid is not working. It was noted on my MRA by doc Collins that I had thyroid nodules. The following workup and biopsy showed the lower part of thyroid not working.

I think there are many of us tos'ers who are on thyroid.

I tried Lyrica and gained 12 pounds in two weeks...I quit taking it not just because of the weight--but because of the other side effects. I believe that Lyrica is the "new" version of Neurontin. Tramadol is a Seratonin uptake drug also...Many meds cause weight gain.

Try to get some type of exercise as it may help--even if it is just walking around the block or up the stairs. Kicking my sugar habit was the best thing I ever did! I quit cold turkey--and I don't crave it anymore! I try to eat a serving the size of my fist of protien and an equal size portion of a complex carbohydrate six times a day. A cinny bun is not a complex carb....HAHAHA. I love the book "You--An Owners Manual" and "You On A Diet", and also Bill Phillips' Body For Life program. Most importantly---talk to your doctor about your weight concerns and he may be able to adjust some of your meds.

Good Luck to you!
