Default Cannot take this pain, scared.

Hi guys. Haven't been here in a while. I am experiencing awful pain. It's under my arm a bit on the left side in my chest and around to my shoulder blades, my forearm also hurts and I had some finger pain primarily the 3 outer fingers on left side.
I have a brachial plexus injury with possible TOS. I also have a herniated disc in my cervical spine and thoracic spinal damage. I cannot recall the MRI too well but something ceases and T12. I do experience neck pain a lot. I do not sleep properly. I am on a hard mattress and end up sleeping on my stomach all twisted up.
Do any of you experience pains similar? I was doing laundry, lifting and bending when all of this started.I did not become short of breath but I do hurt and feel like coughing O.o
I am to see my regular dr first before she sends me to a neurologist. But will hopefully be seeing one soon. I have 11 year old injuries.

Is this a typical type of pain for you? Did this come on suddenly?

If its not typical and it did come on rather suddenly (while doing laundry)-- and its on your left side and you are experiencing severe chest (possibly heart) pain, along with pain shooting into your left arm -- I would go to the ER immediately.

I really don't mean to upset you further -- and I don't know how old you are -- but please don't take chances....

Do you have a recliner to sleep in? Stomach sleeping is really bad for TOS ..and your back in general , about the worst way to sleep..

It sounds like you are having severe spasms , can you get to any phys therapy for some massage, ultrasound, or something to help resolve the spasms.

Also try not to panic or tense up that clamps down /affects your muscles even more - gentle motions to keep the good fluids going in and bad fluids flow out.

deep belly breathing also called diaphragmatic breathing is beneficial

plenty of fluids/hydrate yourself

try the yoga style corpse pose on your bed or floor and breathe /relax
many times a day..

I'm sorry your hurting...I know it's rough but the good news is that it sounds
like you are on track with a tos medical provider so things can get better. I get the same symptoms with chest pain and no one
one could initially figure out what was going on, but after the diagnosis I was actually told at Johns Hopkins by the nurse that many of those that end up at their tos clinic have been to the er for chest pain.
I have been getting the tight throat too lately and have in the past...scary-have you been
able to figure out any strategies for that?
Hang in there

Yes I had a stress test for my heart and that came out fine but I do have a history of rapid and skipped beats along with chest pain and arm pain. The ER staff thought I was having an embolism once and gave me 4 baby asprin. It's just scary when it happens. The pain isn't always over my heart. Sometimes it's to the left or right of it, or on the opposite side of my chest but mainly on my left side.
If I had TOS I suspect it's Neurogenic. But can that cause these symptoms with the heart pain, shoulder pain, armpit pain and finger pain?

I hope the Dr sees that I need a specialist and won't drag things out.

I too get that throat discomfort as well and I try to drink water to ease it. Just slow steady sips. Sometimes it helps and sometimes not.

By the way I am 32 years old and have ben smoking for 16 years..I know! Bad! I am working on cutting back to quit and so far so good. I will be moving to a new place where there is no smoking indoors so I have a better chance of quitting.

For sure tos can cause the chest shoulder armpit finger symptoms...it explains it pretty accurately actually where all others doctors will be confused and without a diagnosis. When tos was finally suggested and I saw a specialist my similar symptoms finally made sense to someone who was on track for the first time.

How bad is your throat thing? Sometimes I feel like I'm choking, ever get that bad for you? Had chalked it up to allergies until recently when I noticed it happen during aggravation of tos symptoms.
