I was just wondering, how many people here can do a full flat-footed squat? I'm not talking about with weights or anything, just sqatting all the way down with your heels on the ground.
I can't do it yet, and I've never been able to do it as an adult, but I've been working on it daily. It's one of my next goals. I've noticed that the more I squat, the better my entire body seems to feel. I'm just wondering if there might be a correlation between not being able to squat deeply and TOS?

I heard somewhere, that in countries where they squat a lot, there are very few people with lower back problems. It seems to me, that that would translate to the upper body, as well.

So, no one else can do it?
I heard a trainer the other day say, that most people these days, are missing 50% of the range of motion in their hips and ankles. It's mostly because people sit in chairs all the time and it ruins your posture. I've been hearing a lot of bad things about sitting too much, lately.

I can do it, but it's hard to make my feet stay flat on the ground.
Don't ask me to stick my arms out when I do it.

My hip pt told me to do these every day. I do them at least 3x wk I use an excercise ball between my low back & a wall it makes a lot easier espec. if u have balance problems. I dont have a problem w keeping my heels on floor even w ankle pain. If u put all ur wt on the front part of ur foot this will make ur knees go past ur feet. Not a good thing for ur knees!

I am 52 and have been able to do this for many years because of my double joints and doing yoga. I do it with my feet the width of my shoulders and pointed out just a bit and arms between my legs to the floor for balance.

I can do it, but my toes turn out about 45 degrees. If they're suppose to be parallel - that's not going to happen.
