Over the years, my handwriting has been getting increasing more illegible. I no longer send out handwritten Christmas cards because of the pain it causes me.

Dysgraphia is a disability of handwriting. Usually it is diagnosed in children. The physical act of writing is so painful and difficult that a child with dysgraphia will avoid all forms of writing and will be labeled ADHD or lazy,when in fact, they don't progress because they are using much more brainpower than their schoolmates just in the physical act of writing. They never achieve automaticity in writing that allows them to use penmanship for learning. They don't know that other kids don't have difficulty using their fingers and hands for writing, they just think that they are not as smart as their classmates.

Dysgraphia is considered a learning disability in children, affected children can get services with a IEP or 504 plan under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Does anyone else list acquired dysgraphia as a symptom to their doctor? I have not, but I plan to add it as an important symptom. Many jobs require legible handwriting, so I think that this is an important symptom(actually a disability all on its own)

Dysgraphia is diagnosed by an educational psychologist.

My handwriting is pretty poor since my RSI/TOS..
The first few words can be ok but gets progressively messy & spelling get scrambled..
I don't really have pain now, used to get sharp crampy pains in the back of my hands/fingers. now just messy and lots of spelling errors.

I am so happy for auto spell check....on the computer & smart phones..

Yep. And typing skills reduced from 75 spam to 55 wpm with an increase in errors.
