I have recently been diagnosed with venous Tos. I noticed my whole right arm was swollen and was admitted to Washington Hospital Center where I had an ultrasound, CT scan and Venogram/angioplasty performed. My subclavian vein is currently %50 open I have had visits with Dr. John Ricotta at Washington Hospital Center, as well as Dr. Ying Lum at John's Hopkins and wanted to see if anyone has had TOS surgery performed with these surgeons and what there experience was like.

I think you can click on your user name in the upper right corner to see the visitor message that was sent. Eventually you can get private messages, but not yet.

DWR37--what is the advantage to the surgical approach that Dr. Margolis uses (rib resection robotically going through the rib cage ) as opposed, to the conventional approach of rib resection?

There are some videos on-line. Some surgeons believe it is more painful with longer hospital stays so they don't believe in it. |

My name is Yana. I had neurogenic Tos and was operated by Dr. Ying Wei Lum at John Hopkins 6 month ago. My surgery was 100 % successful and I feel great. I also liked Dr. Lum 's personality a lot.He gave me his email and I asked him a lot of questions before and after surgery and he always got back to me quickly. I think he is talented young surgeon and I recommend him a lot, even thought I understand that each case is different. |
