If you look at my siggy you'll see that I had a second set of surgeries to cleanup scar tissue (there are links to posts I made after each surgery). I am approaching 1 yr post surgery and the TOS symptoms have not recurred. Unfortunately, I'm still having neck pain due to arthritic facet joints likely an unfortunate result of adjacent disc degeneration and my cervical fusion back in 2011.

Default compunded pain cream can be expensive!

I asked my family Dr about a prescription for some of this compounded pain cream last week, I got a 20 day supply in a pump tube-2 pumps per application 2x daily with only 3 of the ingredients and my insurance paid over $400, I still had to pay $180, for a 20 day supply! I really wanted to try this, but it's not affordable long term. Crazy expensive.

I use some over-the-counter stuff called Equate Cooling Aloe Sunburn Relief Gel With Lidocaine in places where the main problem is pain, and capsaicin cream in places where the main problem is numbness or stiffness.

Ouch! My doc gave me a sample, and when they called in the prescription, the company sent me another sample. I have no idea how much it will end up costing me after that, but I would not be able to continue to use it at $180 a pop either!

I will say that I have been putting it on after my post-op physical therapy, and it does help. I still have to pop a pain pill, but, it definitely does help.

Your share will depend on your prescription coverage. My share was not anywhere close to $180. You can always have the doctor write the prescription, find out the price but not fill it if it's too much. I seem to remember that one of the compounding pharmacies I've worked with had this information all ready when they called me so I could make the decision whether I wanted the prescription to be filled or not.
