Just a brief note to let you all know that almost 5 months after surgery which revealed Arterial TOS (left side) I feel much better. All my symptoms pre-op are gone. Due to almost life long nerve and artery compression recovery took much time and still will. I mostly have do pay attention to prevent muscle spasms in my neck and my nerves in left shoulder/arm still do cause some occasional pain/burning. Connective tissue is getting smoother.

Right side: Had surgery for Venous/Neurogenic TOS 11 months ago. The result is great. No more symptoms.

Therapies I follow: PT (reeducation), lymphatic drainage, ultrasonic for scars supraclavicular, Craniosacral-Therapy. Medication: occasionally pain med and Alprazolam for muscle relief as needed.

Oh and you may be interested in Vitamins I am taking daily:

Vitamin B complex (with all the important B's)
Vitamin D (carefeul, not too much)
Magnesium (500mg per day - I started this a week ago and the effect on the muscles is just fantastic! And I am not in any way connected to Magnesium industry)
To get back on my feet after two very invasive surgeries I also take Ginseng.

Will start Qi Gong combined with Tai Chi starting next week and do this very carefully.

For Arterial TOS I had 1st rib removal and scalenectomy and brachial plexus neurolysis. After the surgery the surgeon told that "it was a mess inside there" with muscles very thick and not at the right place and lots of scar tissue. I also had arterial collaterals running over the whole plexus area which definitely means I have been suffering from this condition basically all my life. I am a violonist - a fact that for sure didn't help.

Thank you for the helpful updates. Are you able to play the violin since surgery? I ask because I've played the violin seriously since childhood - likely a contributing factor to my condition - and although I'm now unable to play because of bilateral NTOS, I'm hoping I'll be able to again some day. (I sent you a PM).
