Default Surgery with Dr. Thompson on June 17

Just wanted to update everyone that I will be having surgery on my left side on June 17th at Barnes Jewish. Will be performing Scalenectomy, First Rib removal, and Pec minor tenectomy. A little anxious even though I have been thru this before with the right side. Trying to remember all the little pointers for before surgery, so if any of you have been thru this before and have some pointers, I would love to hear them.

Thanks,

Good luck!

Stock up on household supplies
Get an Amazon prime membership and have anything you need during recovery shipped to your front door
Work on abs, lower abs to help you get out of beds, etc. since you can't use your arm to assist - if recommended by your dr. Or pt of course.
If you are a woman someone recommended a strapless bra, bandi, since you can't lift your arm over your head.
Wash your sheets and bedding before you go.
Eat healthy, like super healthy!
Again, if you are a woman, and also have long hair, put hair in tight ponytail on the very top of your head, braid it, wrap it around in a bun, don't wash it until you can or have to!
Dry shampoo adult cleansing cloths.

Anybody else?

**disclaimer, I have only had bilateral pec minor release thus far. I haven't taken the big plunge yet.

I would have some zip up shirts/light jackets on hand. I couldn't raise my arm fully for awhile, and having zip up tops definitely helped!

Oh, maybe you could add some snaps at the top of a tank top. That would be nice, like the hospital gowns. Could that maybe even be done to a bra??

Anybody want to start a post tos surgery fashion line??
