Default mass gen long wait to hear from doctor??

Anyone else have this experience? I have heard such great things about them, but have been waiting for a returned phone call for three months, the last month and a half of which I've been following up regularly. We met in person but the doctor has never personally followed up with me-although I've spoken to his nurse, it needs to be him to schedule surgery. Really frustrated--is a typical thing to which I should adjust--I had higher expectations....

Can you get thru to his office and remind them, or ask if you got forgotten about?
Or does the office have email to send a request/reminder?

I guess I'd ask for clarification , maybe he doesn't think you are a good candidate for surgery yet?
But if so they should tell you that and not ignore or forget about you.
If he is on vacation tor away from the office, they should tell you that too..

I would schedule a follow up appointment. Do you live far away?

He was out of the office for the last three weeks of July.

Has your botox run out? How did it work for you? (I'm just curious).

Botox helped but it wore off. An appointment would be ideal but I'm from out of state- he said he would call for a follow up but never did although I spoke with his nurse-I talked to her about scheduling a surgery for late August before he left in July but can't book without talking to him--now they tell me the earliest date is November. I had heard how responsive he is-- but I've been calling since April. Meanwhile TOS is making trying to do anything in life total hell and I really don't know how I'm going to make it much further.

There are two different offices and two different nurses to talk to. I too, didn't hear back from them, called and talked to one nurse more than once, turns out it was the other person in the other office I needed to talk to.

Meanwhile, they had messed up getting things through my insurance (permanently, I can not get the botox treatment from ANY doctor now, ever), messed up some records, and when we finally started frequent phone calls and emails insisting on a return call from him, he finally did call, acknowledged mistakes were made but refused to take responsibility for them (it was him, directly), and dumped me as a patient. So much for the shining Dr. Donahue.

Hopefully, none of this is going on with you, and his office person is just messing up (one office was good, nice, etc, the other one, not so much...). Keep calling, ask about is there another office or person you should call through. Hoping it all works out for you.

Yes, me too! I gave up. Last saw him in Feb. For followup to surgery in Sept. He told me to call him for anything.
I waited a mo. after having severe increase in pain all of sudden in late march. Then called & talked to his secretary at mgh to see if I should come in sooner than my 1 yr followup. Never heard back. Called another mo later & she told me to call his nurse & leave messg. I did never heard back so called 2 wks later left another messg. Never heard back.
I talked to my neurologist about this, he said he would call for me personally if I wanted him to. I told him id think about it. He probably wont be able to fit me in bf Sept. 15 anyway which was orig. Supposed to be Sept.5.
I think his list of patients has exploded since his new tos Book came out which was after my 1st tos surgery w him.
Good Luck!
