Default Blood Pressure Cuff

Hey guys,

Don't you hate having your BP taken? Mine is all over the place - I'm sure it depends on how much I have used my arm and how tight my scalenes are. If your hand tingles and turns red when your BP is being taken, what type of TOS do you have??

ATOS. Are you on any medicine???? You seriously need to see a specialist soon.

My blood pressure isn't all over the place. Just goes up when I get anxious.

GGAAAAHHHH!!! I HATE having my BP taken! I always have to tell nurses that they only have 1 attempt, after that I will fling the cuff off due to pain. Also the reading may be totally off if the blood in my arm isn't moving.

Default The Pressure is All Mine (haha)

My doc sometimes has to take my BP at the ankles because both arms give a false low reading due to TOS. Took some convincing on my part, but after having me drink a lot of H20, resting and eating some crackers before taking it again, he doesn't question this phenomenon any longer…

Vascular TOS explains the color change in your hands, but I think the tingling is a sign of Neurogenic TOS. I guess, technically, since our nerves contain (tiny) blood vessels which are subject to compression injury, all TOS presents with at least some vascular sx.

Just one of the reasons I call it "Thoracic Whatlet? Syndrome"!! Are we having fun yet?
