I'm getting a first rib resection with a supraclavicular incision. Do you have to keep it bandaged after surgery? If so, how did you do it? I'm thinking the incision will be large and difficult to wrap bandages around my neck.
I think it will be like this: http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/12...bbc2420cec.jpg |

You will be sent home with a small gauze like bandage sealed with a clear waterproof top bandage, must keep it dry for a certain time (not sure how long), then you can remove bandage. You won't need to replace bandages yourself. The incision is not huge - a few inches long. My son did not have all the redness surrounding the incision in your image. |
