I thought I'd use a couple minutes to update on how I'm doing 10 days post op.

I never meant to give the idea that this surgery is a cure for all our symptoms. Sometimes the burning returns (slightly) the bones ache a little but that is ok though because I can tell the doctor on my next visit and he can up the pump dose a little.

The swelling has gone away. Yesterday and today I noticed I couldn't close my right hand completely.

A finger occasionally goes numb and when I'm up too long my shoulders ache, but nothing like prior to surgery.

The majority of the pain and horrible burning is gone and in another week I'll have a chance to make it even better when I see the doctor. I'm weaning off the ORAL pain meds slowly - down from 7 or 8/day to 2

I don't have to jump or protect my arms or feet from open door drafts, breezes or someone's touch. I can use my air con this summer !!
My circulation is back, I can hold a fork to finish a meal now, even though my arm muscles are so wasted, they tire easily.
I'll need some rehab, but I am so totally thankful for and thrilled with the pain relief and especially the relief from burning.

I never lost hope there was help and relief out there.

Love to all,
A Very Happy Hope
